Newegg e.bay same price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/291805305639

I bought these with the 15% off ebay coupon the other day. they were $114.99 - $17.25 , so $97.74 AC. But, this $104.99 is a $10 drop off the 'normal' price.

Realistically, what's the plus on picking this up over something like https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6820232417

Just the CAS latency? The sick heatspreaders?

From my quick Google, it looks like the Aegis uses a lower voltage (less powerful) and the gskill can be overclocked, and the heat management if you want to overclock

Think we might be building similar rigs.

I've read some ram stating it runs of Intel something or other. Will that kind of ram function on an and ryzen board?

That aegis is primarily for intel build while my guess is this is for AMD

Ryzen builds are different
It is better to get the ddr4 that are optimized for Ryzen builds
E.g gskill flare x is a good one

You shouldn't have a problem using this with Ryzen.
I've done a great deal of Ryzen builds and I haven't had issues with any random RAM that i've thrown in.

I have the 3200 version with a 1700x cpu. With the latest bios I have no issues running 3200 @ 1.4v on a b350 mb.

Im also interested in building a Ryzen based computer. But, im not interested in overclocking.
If you dont overclock the motherboard, at what speed will this memory operate at? Also, Since this memory has heatsinks on it will this affect the life of the memory at all?

Except for the fact that they're finally within $25 of their all time lows? Nine months ago this exact set of RAM would have been $170. A price drop of 40% in less than a year doesn't really deserve a sigh....
