This is the usual sale price but is not always available at this price. Description states two gigabit ports but that is very old information. Only one is included these days.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...ap_ac.html

The UAP-AC-LITE UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System from Ubiquiti Networks is a scalable enterprise access point solution designed to be easily deployed and managed. It supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 867 Mb/s in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual band operation with 2 x 2 MIMO technology for each band. It has a range of up to 400' and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. This UniFi Access Point (AP) has a sleek design and can be easily mounted to a ceiling tile or wall, using the included mounting hardware.

As long as the different APs are both Ubqiuiti models listed in the table under "Supports Multi-hop Wireless Uplink", it should work.

Do these work as part of the mesh AP's. Even if this could be a centralized AP and have the mesh ones connect to that.

I believe the answer is yes but to make sure we are talking about the same thing, check out this page.

I glanced. Looks like the examples show the same hardware working together. I'll look more into it to see if the 2 different devices will mesh later on. I like the disks better for inside walls and already have 2 with the rabbit ears I want to move outdoors. Thanks for the link. I've bookmarked that for later reading.

Wow didn't know these worked this way. Pretty cool that they do. I have 2 hardwired but may add a third outside now.

Beware that you have to install the unifi controller software to access/configure it. When you have no other device just this, it would be much simpler just to log on to the device directly. The controller was a huge pain to move from one computer to the other.

That said, once configured it's great, and looks so cool when flush mounted / poe fed from the wall directly. I am much happier since I disabled wireless on my router and connected this.

There is a website online that offers a free controller if it's only 1 site. I personally use Amazon's aws free tier and made my own server. I manage all my sites from that one server. Avoid the cloud key Gen 1.

Can I get rid of my WiFi router and just use it with ceiling mount in 2500 square foot home.

No, this is an access point, you still need a router. But you can disable the access point functionality of your wireless router and use these as an AP

This isn't a router so you'll still need that. As far as coverage, pushing 2,500 sq. ft. (either one story or two) might be pushing it. From my experience, these don't have the greatest range but they are very stable. Of course, how many people around you with WiFi will give you different results than mine (I can detect 30+ AP's at any given moment, lol). I have the Pro model and an LR model in a 2,000 sq.ft. two story home and get good coverage, but I do get a dropoff in my garage.
