Who wants to get tied to a closed ecosystem with adt? Much better to go open source or even hubitat, but not the failing cloud of smartthings

The whole point of SmartThings is to avoid incompatibility like this. Should be relabeled DumbThings.

I don't like the direction which ST is going in. They already are phasing out the Classic ST app and forcing you into the archaic Samsung app. Now, they are trying to contract in ADT into the ST ecosystem.

I went with ST because of their decentralized structure, which allows users to completely control ST. I have a bad feeling that will degrade in time, Samsung opting for bigger money makers like ADT, etc...

I agree - This is DUMBthings.
I got it as a promotion when I purchased Samsung TV. You need to buy special 'high-priced' sensors from ADT for this thing to monitor.

There are all kinds of incompatibilities with "smartthings' hubs, devices... Its crazy just trying to figure out what works with what under what scenarios. There are lots of Gotchas. You never know who to call - Samsung? Smartthings? ADT? - to resolve the issues because they are cross-platform issues. This is not 'partnership' but lot of finger pointing. See reviews at Amazon - more 1 * than 5* with average 2-1/2 star. PATHETIC

I'm about to trash this DUMB system and buy another system that is industry compatible.
AVOID DUMBTHINGS until they fix the incompatibilities.

I Hope Samsung, Smartthings, ADT are listening!

SmartThings has had a series of outages recently. Also, there are two SmartThings apps that are incompatible w each other, and ADT which is additionally incompatible with either of them. Samsung has been using its customers as unwitting alpha testers for these apps for months.

I don't know what's going on with Samsung's SmartThings division but they seem to have a serious mismanagement problem. Since I use Alexa to control things I'd be happy to get rid of SmartThings altogether and let Alexa handle all of it natively. Presumably that's Amazon's plan, and Samsung seems to be rolling out the red carpet for its ST customers to flee as soon as it happens.

Will this work with my Phillips hub, apple home, kasa hub, Google home hub, door lock hub, or any of the other 500 hubs?
