It's a small saving off MSRP but with no touchpad and only 8GB of ram, it doesn't seem like a must buy situation. I've seen similar deals with double the ram and sometimes touchscreen too around the $1000 price point, I realize this is the latest model but there's always a new one coming out so seems better to wait.

This laptop has a touchpad. Not sure what you're talking about there. But the rest I agree with yeah. It's not a great deal.

Sure, its not the best deal, but this is the second or third best price ive seen in last 2 months for a brand new, non rebate i7 9370. Theres rumors that dell is announcing the 9380 this week at CES, but thats announcing not launching- so if you need one now, its not a bad choice.

MSRP is $1470 on this configuration. You consider $500 a small savings?

These do go on sale frequently and better deals have been had in the past, but your claim it is a small discount off MSRP is 100% false.

No, 13" XPS has soldered RAM but storage is upgradable. 15" you can upgrade both

4k is waste of battery power on 13 inch display. 2.5k is better, but dell still not has that option.

If you are planning to upgrade the RAM to 16GB, don't bother. The RAM is soldered.

Not sure if you know what a Dell XPS is. It would be almost impossible to find a 2 years old Dell XPS with this spec for close to $300. The best I found is $350 for parts not working below.
