I used this to "extend" my phone hotspot, plugged the network cable into my regular router's WAN port as a temporary home internet connection.

I just don't trust any refurb network devices. You always want this type of hardware to be brand new IMO.

I have one, use it in my sunroom. Covers the whole backyard since it's just screened in.
The yard is about 3/4 acre.

Does it say anywhere if this is version 1 or 2? I have a v2 and obviously would also wonder what the difference between versions is, if anyone knows.

Also at least for the one i have the range for 2.4 is really good covers about an acre, 5 however doesnt carry near as far, but thats also due to the spectrum.

Well, most likely these are returns by people who were unable to set them up properly. Its unlikely the hardware is faulty. They either work or dont.

There are a lot of factors to consider here, but if you're using it as an access point (hard wired) to service a dead zone in your house and not using it as an extender, it could be a good option at a decent price. If you want to use it as an extender, a better router or mesh system (although much more expensive) are better options. Extenders are a last option in my opinion.

Would like to try this as my current business' phone lines are internet based, and have experienced no service several times. Would need to support 3 lines, fax, and credit card transactions.
How do you go about configuring this to extendyour mobile hotspot?
