Found this pack for $79.93. It looks like a new model just came out so they are getting rid of the remaining stock of the outgoing model. I have not tested it myself, although it seems like a good price for what should be decent quality.

Good if you must have this REI bag now. At this price point, ~45L backpacking bags are extremely competitive. While REI bags are generally quite durable, comfort is not a strong suit (I have several... including an older model of FLASH).

I don't have a time machine, but based on previous deals, you may want to wait for an Osprey deal...or a REI clearance deal or garage sale.

I've heard good stuff about this pack, especially from bushwhackers and climbers who don't want a ton of external crap hanging off of it to snag on things.

REI Garage sales tend to have more variety of like new packs for this or less. Unfortunately, last one just happened so not bad if you're desperate or can't borrow one.

Lol. Sorry. I really didn't want to discourage anyone from purchasing the pack.

I bought this pack at $145 - a %20 coupon. Only hiked a little with it, but it's a solid, lightweight pack.

Tried it and didn't like it. It kinda suck for what it tries to achieve. The comfort can't compare with full-on backpacks like an Osprey Aether with AG; nor can it compare to the lightweight packs where it has significantly more weight. Someone may consider it's a sweet spot tho.

No worries. Lack of easy access to water bottles is a common complaint on a lot of packs. I usually just end up using a carabiner and clipping it on the front chest/shoulder straps somewhere. Yeah, it flops around, but not too badly.

I have an Osprey Atmos 65 liter and while good it is a bit too big and heavy for more technical hikes. I hope this one feels better for shorter and more technical hikes.

Nice, I wasn't quite sure as to the durability of this pack. I have the Flash 18, but that is not geared toward a lot of stuff so durability hasn't been an issue so far.

Is co-op just their in-house brand like Kirkland is to costco?

While it is a store brand, I would say that it is not quite the same as a generic store brand. The REI brand has its own designs on several products. To my knowledge, there are no rebranded items that are the same.
