Warehouse is a gamble, but it can pay off.
I ordered a gaming headset that was brand new.
I got an HDMI cable that didn't work and had to be sent back.
I got an office chair that was listed as used - good, but was brand new. It didn't come with the necessary screws and tools (and had the instruction book for a TABLE!), but the manufacturer sent the kit and e-mailed me the instructions. Given that it was a big, heavy, sturdy chair that retailed for $225-350, and I got it for $75, I was ok with the inconvenience. (And I delayed ordering too long and just missed the last 20% off deal that would have made it even cheaper!

I ordered a used - good printer that wasn't supposed to have the cartridges. It did, but they shipped the completely wrong model of printer, which I only noticed after I unboxed it and set it up. The box was very similar though, but it was a much cheaper model of printer. It was opened (and slightly scratched on top), but otherwise new. Had to ship it back and order a separate one (without knowing if it would be the right model or another wrong one.) But they let me use the printer until the new one arrived. (I had rebates due that weekend!) The second one was correct and brand new, with all ink cartridges (and all packaging, tape, etc.) So, I got a good deal there, since it was a model that isn't made any more (but has much cheaper ink cartridges available than the newer models.) On the plus side, Amazon gave me a $50 convenience credit, which was almost what I paid for the printer!

So, a mixed bag. But in the end, I got mostly brand new stuff for much cheaper. Everything but the HDMI cable was eventually made right. Was ultimately worth it, despite the problems and additional effort.

I swear most of SD poops on AW because they try to get the deals first. I've gotten so much stuff brand new from AW that has been marked used acceptable, and my bad luck has been minimal

Huh? I just skimmed through few items and they are about the same(and lower) but with 20% discount at checkout. I'd say that's pretty good.

same, have purchased multiple Canon L-series lenses at 40%+ off retail prices, arrived in perfect condition, use them for years and then resell them for more than I paid from Amazon Warehouse - repeat.

Warehouse is a pain in the ass but if you look, you'll find good deals. The problem is that people only ever look at AW after a post like this shows up on Slickdeals, and by that time someone else has cleaned out all the good stuff. Need to keep an eye on it daily instead

I've had good experience with AW until recently. I bought two things listed a used - like new, but both were broken. One was so obviously damaged that I can't believe they were trying to resell it. It's a gamble with the hassle of shipping stuff back.

I've had bad luck recently too.

These prices are about the same or higher than the same black Friday sale they had

I've had pretty good luck with AW over the years. If an item does not meet the description and is still usable I usually contact them and request a partial refund, many times they comply with a nice percentage back, if not I just return it.

AW has been not treating me well in the past year it seems. If something is $70 reg price and there's an amazon return they knock like 3 bucks off and I roll the dice. I'd say 50% of of what I get is missing pieces inside it or is just blatantly used. Their quality control is crap now. Granted I can just return it if I dont feel like i'm satisfied but I would say the AW is not like it used to be.

Thanks for the heads up. Got a like new pressure washer. AW deals have been mostly hit for me. Worth the gamble since you can just return it if it is busted.
