No HDMI ARC, which is unquestionably THE way to connect to your modern TV (almost all newer TVs support ARC).
I actually have this soundbar, and it has excellent sound, but as I said, no HDMI ARC. You can teach it to recognize your TV's remote to control volume and power, but its still not as good as ARC.
I'm not buying any more soundbars without it.

Unless you're doing ATMOS, I don't see ARC as a game changer for a soundbar.

Assuming your TV properly passes DD/DTS (and hopefully transcodes DD+ to DD), the optical out to a soundbar can do everything you need in the non-ATMOS soundbar space. On top of that, set the audio output volume to Variable, and you can control the volume with your TV remote and just leave the bar powered on.

ARC (just like many non-core features of the HDMI standard) can become a headache when it doesn't work as intended/designed and often for no clear or diagnosable reason. If you don't need a specific functionality it offers, I would avoid it.

I have this too, it sounds good, solid dialog lift. I use optical and and the fios remote can be reprogrammed to do the volume. previously used a harmony remote. if you dont need ARC, its a solid sound bar that has bluetooth and adjustable dialog

As one might suspect with a bar that is only 2" high; the midrange is quite lacking.

Are their soundbars in this price range that are notably better? I've had a deal setup for a few months and haven't really seen a lot of alerts for them...

I'm a filthy casual and just want a decent soundbar and maybe a sub... I don't need surround or anything like that.

Yamaha YAS 207 at around $200 would be a good deal.

Maybe not smoking, but $10 off last year's price is pretty good for this bar, no?

I picked this up on last year's deal. I've been very happy with it. My only complaint is that it drops the connection to the TV every great now and then. The output of the sub is impressive for it's size and it really captures the rumble of an NBA arena during games. It blows away the built-in speakers on my Vizio P-Series.

I have the yas 203 and I really like it it just doesn't have the virtual DTS:X like the 207 but has been on sale for $118 on Newegg already

I have this bar as well and love it...the sound quality for dialogue is where this bar shines.
