Greentoe accepted my offer of $1899 for the LG 65B8. Seems like a great price from what I can tell. I was looking at the 65c8. But, didn't want to spend $300 more. Was tempting since that is a pretty solid price too. But, this felt like the better deal.

What's the sales tax situation for green toe purchase? Does it depend on whether the seller accepting the offer has physical presence in my state?

once an offer gets accepted, does green toe tell you who is fulfilling it?

Yes, they send your offer to dealers and the dealers send counter-offers or accept your offer. I assume you can buy extended warranty, but you can probably confirm pretty quickly with their CSR through e-mail.

Before or after the sale? You'll see the company that is fulfilling in the order receipt through e-mail (along with a polite request to not share the seller information and price as it would hurt their business model and potentially p'o the other sellers). The purchases I've made through them were through smaller companies that were authorized dealers for the cameras I bought.

When I've put a price, I try for slightly under 50% chance on their little meter and wait about 3 days to see what the offers are.

AMD did the low offers work ? If not , how many times you can put an offer ? If I recall correctly, eBay let's you do it 3 times!

Got within $50 of what I wanted. I think it depends on the product and manufacturer. What are the margins on the type of product... How "new" is the product... 1-year old vs. just released = more discount. It looks like $1,799 ($1,800) is the 50% shot here so it's a good spot to aim for if you're looking to buy this.

I believe it's 3 offers - same with the seller back to you. They can counter you and you can then counter them again. More often then not, they won't go any lower then first offer (in my experience).

Idk
Sounds too shady for me.
NewEgg flash has it for $1999 delivered.
Rather buy from Newegg and know what I'm dealing with.

FYI - found out that as of Jan 1 Newegg is no longer an authorized LG dealer. Greentoe retailers are all authorized. Also if you search slickdeals tons here about Greentoe. They are legit. Used them a few times.

GreenToe is legit. I know people who have bought several items, the recent being 82 inch samsung.

I'm pretty sure, if you read back through previous deals, that the C865 was this price once.

I just bought 65 C8 for $2,199. Figured it was worth buying through greentoe for the extra $100 vs $2,099 eBay deal of the day since greentoe partners are all authorized LG dealers.

I read plenty that TVs purchased from non-authorized dealers will be serviced once registered. However, I am also buying a $99 squaretrade warranty through Costco and it needs to be purchased from an authorized LG dealer for Costco to allow it. Worth the extra piece of mind imo.

Mine is coming from Beach Camera and, considering the same TV is listed for $3k on their site, I am happy.

Need to return a 75 vizio p series to Costco (I paid $1,750 after tax) which is a pain but is what it is. Wasn't sure I wanted to go down in size but ultimately there is vertical banding when panning on light scenes on the p series that I couldn't look past given the cost of the TV. Pretty nice picture otherwise.

Yes once around BF but hasn't been replicated since.

I am also not sure if that deal was an authorized dealer (no Costco / squaretrade warranty) or of it charged sales tax in my state (Greentoe doesn't).

I have been looking for 65 c8 for weeks and finally bit on $2,199 per my post above.

Around that time, Greentoe apparently counter-offered at $2,099 but $2,199 was the best I could get after several bids at several prices and counter offers.

i ordered this TV for my friend in December for $1799+tax from Beach Camera through Rakuten. The TV died within 2 weeks. He called LG and told them he bought it from Rakuten. LG said he didn't buy it from an authorized dealer and therefore would not honor the warranty. I called Beach Camera to see what our options are. They said they do offer a 45-day return policy but since my friend already cut the box up they will charge 20%. They told me they are an authorized dealer. I called LG to correct the information. The LG rep said my friend will have to call in to walk through the diagnostic before they will send someone out for repair.
My friend did that. The repair person ordered the repair part and will go to his house once the part gets in.

Seems like there's a known issue with this TV. And be sure it is purchased from an authorized dealer.
