People who are considering a dual set up (for office work and not gaming):

Would you get two of these for a dual monitor set up OR get a QHD (2K) 27" for/around $200 (OR 4K 27" around $300) -- if you are thinking of real estate space to get more things done.

I bought 2 of these last week, using for working from home, email, webapps etc and very happy with the resolution. Based on reviews and comments i was expecting to notice pixelation but nothing that i have noticed yet. The thin bezel is nice. The lack of height adjustment does not bother me, if it does i will just buy a desk mount. I cannot comment on the durability. Also did a price adjustment today via chat, nice and easy.

If you're going 4K for desktop use, you'll want larger than 27".

LoL I didn't say that pc monitors should have 5 hdmi's but 1 is really useless and it's an old standard. 3 hdmi's should be the minimum for pc monitors.
It's never going to happen...buy a switch. I have 4 32"s and a 27 imac 5k in my office and get by just fine. lol

Need a deal on a 1440p monitor
Don't know how great a deal this is, but woot.com [woot.com] has the HP 27Q, refurbished, 2560x1440 for $180.

I have had the complete opposite experience with HP even to the point where I almost exclusively buy their products for computing.
this is the problem with customers drawing conclusions based on their 1-2 HP monitors they've bought in 5+ years. Anyone can get a lemon no matter how good the brand is, especially international giants like HP. They gross nearly $60B a year and use parts from almost every major manufacturer (multiple IPS, VA, and TN panels among their many, many monitors). Having a bad experience over a $100 purchase and assuming their $60B in products sales is all trash is just bad logic.

I have two HP 27xi from several years ago that have a 1080 resolution and I believe it bothered me for exactly one day and that was only because I had read about it beforehand.

I'm in IT and work from home a lot on that set up and I can honestly say, even being a very picky person, that I have never noticed pixels in the years that I've owned them.
i love that monitor, imo the 27xi has the nicest pq for 1080p @ 27". looks way better than the hp monitors after. 27xi colors were vibrant and the glossy screen enhanced it even further. i am actually looking around for that monitor but its not sold any where.

I started off reading this thinking ...this guy is making sense! but then he lost me at 1 hdmi is unacceptable and by 5 I had to reply. lol
lol so true. For a budget monitor, I actually want absolutely no features, since in one way or another the cost is being passed down. Who buys a barely over $100 27-inch monitor to use it connected to multiple media devices vs how many of the sales are to people who just want the cheapest 27-inch they can get for a spare computer or extra guest bedroom, etc? Other than for my main gaming system, I would love my extra monitors to have 0 options that aren't really important if it drops the cost some. No adjustable height, no speakers, no extra HDMI, no VESA mount, no USB hub is fine for me on spares. For every customer who wants multiple HDMI inputs since this is their home theatre center with XBOX, cable box, HTPC all going into it, and without a receiver or extra speakers, there are about 1,000 customers who just want a cheap, decent looking monitor lol.

To the guy who wants 5 HDMI inputs and speakers on this thing for Xbox and PC gaming.... Your gaming future will appreciate never using built-in monitor speakers for gaming and media lol. A literally $15 powered speaker set will do wonders unless your hearing is really shot.

I picked up this monitor for work, so I won't go blind trying to read stuff off of my laptop.
(I've been holding out for years)

Thanks, OP!
