For $5 less, I can get 150 rubber bands. I'll use 6 of those rubber bands as a "fishing rod belt", keep 6 more for backups as fishing rod belts, then use the other 138 to fling at the OP for this ridiculousness...and still have $5 to go purchase some dam bait (Randy Quaid, Vegas Vacation).

These are quite useful and better than velcro. They have thick padding on them that will not mess with the finish of your fishing rods. I have a bunch of these around and they are handy. For example, on trips to the Outer Banks, I take my single piece 8' rod and strap it to the fold down handles above the windows in my SUV. Holds the rod very securely.

thats cool, you can do the same thing with any random piece of velcro. im still salty this guy triggered my fishing alert email for THIS
