60hz kills the deal.
current 4k content on all current 4k capable tv's maxes out at 60hz

If you're talking about the TCL 43s405, it's $259. I'm debating both of these but leaning towards the TCL for better display/color accuracy to be used as a monitor.
That's the one. I picked one up for $220 shipped/no tax when ebay had 15% promotion two weeks ago( from Electronics Express - they double boxed with a layer of bubble wrap between boxes, nice). Rakuten had it a few days earlier for $208.

Nice man. I saw that and wanted to jump on two but missed out. Wish I could see that price again.

The Toshiba is $229. Any difference?
Not many differences. See below:

TL;DR Toshiba is better for gaming. Insignia is better for watching sports.

The development and distribution of the TVs will be taken over by the Taiwanese company Compal in March this year. Toshiba isn't the first TV manufacturer to switch to this model, in Europe Sharp TVs are manufactured by the Slovakian company UMC and Panasonic TVs in the United States are manufactured by Sanyo and Funai.

Firetv version better thann roku since its easier to sideload apps
Depends on what you want. I would take a Roku TV over Fire TV any day. It runs faster/smoother. Has a much simpler interface and does not bombard me a lot of ads. I used to like the FireTV interface but find it much to intrusive now. It is good for people that want to sideload apps though.

Can anyone confirm if I can sideload Smart Youtube TV on this? Getting this for a grandparent, but they like to use Youtube. I mainly use Rokus so I'm not familiar with the Fire TV interface.

I bought this TV for my gym a few months ago when it was on sale for the same price. Honestly, you get what you pay for. The picture quality is bad. From 3-4 ft away, the artifacts and jagged lines are so incredibly noticeable. I haven't used any other media other than the built-in fire to watch Netflix and Hulu, so I can only attest to that. It's basically a background TV that I mostly listen to and glance at while working out. I would not recommend it as a TV for daily watching. My other TV's are a 2017 Vizio M series and a 2014 Panasonic LED. They each both cost more than 5x as much as this TV (and are larger), so it's obviously not fair to compare, but if you think you're going to get any type of good picture/audio from this TV, you'll be disappointed. Again, for $200 its a fair deal, but it's not a "good" TV.
