Just picked up a few rokus over Xmas, I find nothing special about them and the content is weak unless you have subscriptions. It's way better to just cast television/movies from chromecast if you're looking to cut the cord
I agree, the value here is rather than having a nonfunctional and slow performing smart tv platform on a $320 TV, we have Roku built in which is arguably the best smart tv platform out there.

Chromecast has it's place but for watching Netflix, Amazon, or media files from a USB drive, the built in Roku is really good.

I have had the complete opposite experience with my Roku tcl tv vs my fire stick. I always thought the fire stick was slow and unresponsive. It was so bad that I ended up buying a roku stick to replace it.
Same experience I've had with the fire sticks. I only used to have the fire sticks and tried the roku during one of those free promotions with purchase of sling subscription and it's noticeably faster and I like the UI better. I use them primarily for Netflix or Plex

Thanks for the insight! I grabbed the Walmart 65" 4 series and although the price was stellar the picture isn't as good as the 55" hisense it replaced. Although I will say I haven't given it any calibration yet.

It does have a problem where when I sometimes switch HDMI inputs not using my receiver but using the TV inputs the screen turns green.. trying to add the Walmart protection plan now jic.

SN: I knew you could pair the insignia for stereo but didn't know you could group them.. I'll have to look into that if you can do a group audio thing then I'll have to pick up 3 more to add to the two I have. I'll try it with the two I have now. Thanks!
Yes you can groups just about anything with google home app. I mixed it up with Vizio atmos, smaller insignia and google mini with the stereo pair, amazing stuff.

Keep in mind the upscaling might even look worse on the bigger screen, it just magnifies any artifacts. However if it's a good solid 1080p 60Hz from a good app or xbox then it's quite something. Xbox users think I'm cheating all the time but it's actually because my TCL 6 series give me an edge in Forza and I can game all night long. Gotta run, trees needing pruning in this good NW sunshine.

At the advice of several SD'ers and following RTINGS recommendation of this television, I've got to say I'm greatly disappointed.

The corners were all dark, like you are looking through a monocle. Nothing fixed the issue. Within 1 day of it arriving, I contacted this exact seller about returning it.

I was told they would rather I contact TCL for a replacement or repair and refused to give me an RMA #. I contacted them several more times, they never replied.
Within a week the TV was so dark you couldn't watch it, at all. Imagine just barely being able to make out the jersey numbers on a football game.

I contacted PayPal, filed a claim. They denied me a refund, despite all the proof and photos I provided showing its impossible to watch the television. I've had no issues with PayPal previously. Nor Rakuten.

No refund and no replacement. TCL wants me to pay them to fix it.

I personally wouldn't recommend buying from this seller as they refused to honor my request for a refund within 24 hours of getting the television delivered to me.

Currently I've got a BBB complaint filed as well as one filed about them refusing to allow me to return the tv.

Hmm they canceled my order so I'm trying it again. To the guy who is in dispute with a bad TV, if you used a credit card you could do a chargeback.

Depends on the seller. Electronic Express will take care of you...

Interested to know everyone's thoughts on this. I owned the 58" Costco Hisense a few weeks ago and returned it because I had trouble with some apps. After I returned it, Hisense finally responded to my service calls and claimed it could have been fixed with a firmware update. But I do see some reviews on the internet that others experienced the same issues I did.

I ultimately pulled the trigger on this TCL deal, hoping I get better luck. What's everyone's thoughts on the Hisense's Android TV OS versus this TCL's Roku OS? And what's everyone's thoughts on Hisense as a brand versus TCL?

Yeah I own a different Hisense and their CS is atrociously slow to respond. Every message, even if responded to immediately, take about 4-5 takes to get a response. Only way I would buy from them again is though Costco thanks to the warranty extension.

I own this exact model. Bought at BB for $500 on a sale last yr around this time. I really like the picture, especially using the HDR feature on my PS4. The sound is weak, but using my sound bar/wireless sub negates it. The access to HDMI/optical/USB are tricky to get to if using a wall mount. I have not checked on the newer 6 series, but I really feel the price point for this tv is a great value! TU
