Best deal for 128gb usb flash storage that I've been able to find, and from a company that's at least been heard of before.

Oh come on, it would only take ~425 minutes to fill at that speed. Theoretically. If it actually wrote at 5MB/s.

Yeah, hard pass.

Maybe it's just a minimum spec, but for the ones I have bought in store they all write faster than that. Sorry I don't have any specific benchmarks, but the review mentioned seems consistent with my experience.

The in-store drive is listed as USB 3.1. The Amazon one is listed as 3.0. Visually, they look identical.

Super speed is supposed to be 3.1.... when 3.0 was new it was "ultra" speed

I think MC gets 2nds and 3rds of major mfg flash chips that don't write fast...

I scrolled through the Microcenter reviews and someone said he/she got about 90 MBps read and 22 MBps write speeds. There haven't been too many other reviews saying it's very slow either. I'd probably give it a try for $15.

To call these USB 3.0 (3.1 on Microcenters website) is insulting. They have the same write speed (5mbps) as old USB 2.0.

If you need large storage and don't mind waiting the 7 - 8 hours for it upload then fine, this is a good deal.
If you have a bunch of data and you don't want to wait around all day then get one of these (130mbps) write speed.

Also, I would not put any sensitive/important data as these are not super reliable. YMMV.

My experience with these drives have always been really good. Definitely faster than 2.0 and seem to have the best st and most consistent compatibility for different applications. I like to install windows from the MC USB drives.
