JET.com is owned by Walmart. JET doesn't tell you they sell a lot of items through third party marketplace sellers. Those names are not listed. You are led to believe you are buying from JET/Walmart distribution. Last time JET held a larger discount special, I ordered ten 30lbs bags of Blue large breed puppy. All bags contained maggots and moths. JET took them all back and refunded. I researched the origin and it apparently came from a third party distributor. JET also sells grey market cameras and lenses through third party sellers. I returned a lens for that reason. Warranties are void. Always check for expiration dates, conditions of bags/cans and lack of factory packaging for electronic items when ordering through JET. I'm sure they will be receiving a California Class Action Lawsuit in the near future.

I purchased three 30-lb bags of Blue around this time last year. The expiration dates were excellent and the food had no problems whatsoever.

The only thing stopping me from buying again right now is that the base price for a similar product has gone up since last year, so the price with discount isn't as good this time around. It would cost me $32.77/bag (not including tax) this year vs. $30.13/bag last year. This coupon is valid until 2/11/19, so I have time to shop around some more. I know Kroger advertised a sale this week, although they notably advertised a percentage off instead of an actual price, so I doubt it will beat this. I also got a piece of direct mail from Chewy that I haven't looked into yet, but I know that other SD members have used them.

Sorry to hear that but understand that many websites do this, not just Jet. Staples and Office Depot are the first ones that come to mind for me.

I mean, their whole business model was they would shop third party sites, have them drop ship it to you, and they pocket a small profit off of each item.

Except at the beginning they had a ton of discounts/coupons and were losing a ton of money. Many speculated they were scam, until Walmart had a brain fart and bought them for about 3 billion...so they went from possible scammers to possible geniuses laugh out loud

Walmart was going to dump third party dealers and use their distribution chain for JET and more legitimate wholesalers/dealers. The problem is they have only converted their human food items to Walmart distribution due to liabilities. They still hide third party sales. They did NOT hide that information before Walmart bought them out. Everyone knew the names of these resellers.

As far as I remember, those third party companies' names only showed up after you had placed the order. Otherwise, if they always showed you where it was coming from, why wouldn't you just go there and buy it directly without the middleman?

Probably recent since it's more cost efficient to just give the items away than to have it shipped back(which costs money) and then throw it away.

They're just saving one extra step and money but whatever the case it's a good thing for us when they decide to do this. Amazon does this quite often as well expired/close to expired foods.
