I have an old TP-Link Archer C7 that isn't working so well. Would this be better?

Obviously purging dusty and decayed decade old stock! I wouldn't spend a cent on anything less than AC1900.

Or you could use as a bridge or AP for a reasonable price. Or if you dont have the internet speed to take advantage of faster routers this is a very good stop gap until you do. For the price, this is an excellent device imo.

My 2011 / 2012 Asus RT-N66U is a better overall router than this junk. This router focuses on the 5GHz band and 802.11ac standard and says whatever to the 2.4GHz band (the most used frequency in your home). So it isn't the best choice for most but can serve as a good unit for those who have the specific environment and need for 5GHz.

TLDR - PASS.

the extra antenna is only useful if your devices are 3x3 also.

so N450 is all you need Roll each AC band is 433 mb/s; N66U is EOL for Merlin support

What if you don't need a lot of speed and you just need signal strength?
