Well, and the cost for another backup drive so you don't lose your data Wink
Back up drive is a 2TB NAS bought years ago for data only. Cost already recouped

Pair that 120 gig drive with CloudReady for uber cheap chromebook goodness.

Just be very careful. waiting for my one month old drive back. Add $8 to the costs shown for your first RMA headache.
$8 to rma an $18 drive. I'd smash it with a hammer before I did that.

I paid $48 I think? A crucial, Sandisk, was about $10-15 more. Definitely didn't save anything. Also had to go back to the business and rebuild the machine, restore files, etc. Expensive lesson.

The question that I have is .. are these "good enough" to buy???

After multiple Samsung Evo purchases looking for an inexpensive alternative. The Evos are great but pricey. I have only purchased one Adata item and it SUCKED ... a 32 GB thumbdrive with glacial transfer rates.

Are these good enough???

There's this cool phenomenon where the size hard drive that I need has actually decreased over the last ten years instead of increasing. With music and movies moving to the cloud and with games being a download instead of physical media, I really don't need as big of a hard drive as I used to. I kind of imagine that I could easily get away with a 250 GB SSD, especially if paired with a large mechanical hard drive for DSLR photo storage.

What is more likely to fail a 120gb or 240gb?
Actually, a 120gb. A SSD needs some space to move around files. If you pack a SSD with files, it is likely to fail prematurely.

Despite the negative reviews, I'm gonna pound the fork outta this drive for 30 days. If anything happens, Amazon has a good return policy.

Been hesitant to pull the trigger on a SSD as my main os and using my 2tb HDD for storage. How would this fair for a first timer? I've seen this deal a couple times and am thinking it's time lmao
