T-Mobile LG V40 or G7 ThinQ - BOGO (New line NOT required)

This looks like an amazing deal if you are in a market for a new LG phone. Doesn't look like there are any extra strings attached. You will get the discount via bill credits.

The LG G7 seems to be the best deal here since it's $200 cheaper and with a shorter payment plan.

LG V40 - $850 (36 months) [t-mobile.com]

It will be cheaper on getting from eBay, and don't have to deal with the monthly credit

That's the extra strings. Bill credits. It's the next thing you said.

I'm only seeing used V40s cheaper. Can you provide an example for a new T-Mobile one? I've had bad experiences using a verizon/ATT phone on t-mobile because of the LTE bands and software. They have poorer reception and eat up battery too often searching for signal.
I personally don't mind the bill credits because we have no intention of leaving t-mobile.

Lol that's every deal from t-mobile. I said "extra" strings, not the normal strings attached.

Promo has been going on for a week or so. 36 months of bill credits is scary.

T-mobile raised the base price of the G7 from $500 to $650 for this offer. You are actually buying the second phone for $150.

The info above is based on extensive research I did in December 2018 shopping for a new phone. During that time, the in-store price of the G7 dropped from $600 to $500.

similar experience with 3T and v20 lol. Oneplus does software right.

Also, ya not that slick cause of bill credits. If Costco offered it with one time credit, it would be slicker.

Laggy in what way? I inquire because I have a G7 (unlocked variant) and haven't experienced this. Of course comparing it to a OP6T isn't necessarily an apples to apples comparison, 6 to 10 GB RAM on the OP6T vs 4 on the G7. Both do run a SD845.

I won't go LG again. To each their own, but after a bootlooped G4, I wrote them off. T-Mobile sucked me in with the BOGO last spring and I immediately had issues related to Bluetooth and overall shitty experience with updates. That was the V30. Sold mine and my partner is done with hers already.
