Rock Auto [rockauto.com] often has fantastic deals on wiper blades. But you have to hit them at the right time and make sure you can get all your needs out of a single warehouse. They don't make finding deals simple, but if their offering works for you, you'll come out with great prices.

Right now, AC Delco is offering $5 per blade back as a rebate [rockauto.com]. The rebate is available everywhere their blades are sold. I'm using Rock Auto as an example here, but you can stack this with other retailers.

I spotted several sizes of economy blades under $5. Premium (beam, hybrid, winter) were $6 - $9. The cheapest I found were 84422 and 84419 (07 Ford Focus) for $2.76 BEFORE REBATE.

Personal Example:

I couldn't find blades I liked for my car in one warehouse. I just put on my backup set of blades, so I have plenty of time to find a deal vs. paying twice for shipping.

For wifey's car, I did two sets:

ACDELCO 89017 {#19252692} Advantage Beam (Spoiler Included)
ACDELCO 89026 {#19252699} Advantage Beam (Spoiler Included)
ACDELCO 8214B {#19239594} Professional Performance

Subtotal: $41.96
Shipping: $7.99

Total: $48.95

Rebate: -$30.00

Cost AR: $18.95 for 6 blades, or $3.33 each, shipped.

Amazon would have cost nearly $39 AR.

I've always run "average" (i.e. not premium) wipers on my vehicles and they've done just great. When I get wipers for $1 or $2 each I can replace them yearly and be ahead of buying premium ones that last 2 years.

HOWEVER, I think the key is that I keep the windshield waxed up with RainX or some type of equivalent glass polish. Wipers (average or premium) seem to last a lot longer when they glide easily over the glass.

5% off coupon code (put in the How Did You Hear About Us? in cart/checkout) - 9828590593619063

If it really is $5 / blade, then it came out to $0.70/blade for me in the end (ordered 6 for my altima)

AC Delco isn't off brand. They are a big parts company.

Are their blades the best? Nope. But they're decent and will at least quite a while. Let's buy into the hype and assume the Icons will absolutely last 40% longer. For 20% of the price, this deal is still better.

I've had good luck with Valero, too. The beam blades are good for about as long as the Icons.

Also, hybrid blades can sometimes work better than Icons on some cars due to aerodynamics. I had a car where Icons would sometimes chatter when windy, or just plain lift a bit during heavier downpours.

Just to be clear: one can qualify for a $5 rebate per wiper blade, regardless of the unit cost of the wiper blade? Another way of looking at this is the rebate can help offset the cost of shipping?

That's the way that I understand it. There's no exception for pricing. But I couldn't tell you for 8 weeks. If 6 of those Focus blades at $2.76 worked for you, that looks like a $5 MM.

So I have to do a separate rebate form for each wiper? That's a lot of work

Ive never paid more than $3 for good wipers on RockAuto anyway, let alone had to do a rebate to get the price.

I don't see anywhere that it says 1 rebate per submission, and most people will buy multiple blades in one transaction. You should be fine doing them all in one submission. Just keep copies of everything, as usual.

Just Gave it a go. RockAuto wasn't in the prepopulated list for "Online". So when I get my invoice (cc is not charged until it ships), I will write it in and see where it goes!

From the Rebate it seems to be 6 redemptions per household. So 6 blades in total.

Thanks OP!

I got a pair of 'professional' beam blades for my mother's car at about $8 per blade, another set of cheapos for hers and one pair of cheapos for mine, $2,76 for teach of those 4. Once I had some in the cart the page refreshed and showed which ones shipped from the same warehouse, which was helpful. All of it shipped for $7.99 2 day fedex, so $38 total with shipping and tax, $30 back on the rebate, so at worst for net $8 I have one really nice set of beam blades and 2 pairs of spares.
