if it's for general storage, would you notice a big difference between 5400 and 7200 RPM?

He probably thought this was an external hard drive since he didn't bother to see what was for sale. He was wondering if they were WD Reds yet the title says WD Blue. lol

One of the reviews is sort of spooky! He mentions that WD doesn't cover OEM hard drives under their warranty. A WD rep responds to his response and basically confirms it. WTF, how can they plaster "2 year warranty" on the Newegg page: "Package includes a hard drive only - no screws, cables, manuals included. Please purchase mounting hardware and cables separately if necessary". Sounds like this is OEM.

For movies and general storage this is fine. Pair this with an ssd boot drive and your good. I have my games and programs on ssd. Movies on 5400 work great a secondor 2 of extra load time on a 2 hour movie is irrelevant to me.

No. I had the 5TB 5400rpm version of this drive and used it for gaming. For a mass storage drive, these are high performing models.

Here's a good description of the difference between WD drives. (Red, blue, purple, etc.)
