Is it better to wait for AMD Navi 7nm GPUs in a few months? They are supposed to be a major bump up, per dollar, and per energy/power.

100 dollar maybe a good price for those two year old cards. do keep in mind the graphic cards are severely overpriced last year. i got my gtx 1070 for like 300 dollars 2 year ago new and somehow it is 350 USD today?

I got the RX 580 on a deal a few weeks ago and also got those games. It should be noted that those games are pre-orders and not immediately available. When I used my code, I had to create an AMD account, but I didn't have to link it to my Steam account.

Does anyone know how much those games could be resold for once they're released? This would be a really slick deal if those games would make $60+ in a couple of months.

I thought these game deals were attached to card, only can sell to someone with same card, no?

Still trying to sell your mining cards?

I wouldn't buy a used miner card out of principle. Why rewards these parasites that kept gpu costs high artificially?

I am thinking about putting this in my NAS to make it a home theater, would it be able to play 4K 60HZ videos?
Someone else might want to comment on this, but I was under the impression that modern CPU integrated graphics usually has hardware video decode that is capable for this task. Video cards are really required for generating graphics, not for playing back video.

Actually my server is from old hardware which includes a 2600k, not capable of doing 4K 60Hz.

" Is it better to wait? "

(@Wilster, While I am pointing you out, my reply is in general because I see this type of question asked a lot by folks that typically indecisive about things

If you have to ask this question, you will probably never upgrade. Its either you upgrade now or you're forever waiting. You're waiting for a release, you're waiting for reviews, or you're waiting for the next (insert whatever here). If this card is an upgrade for your system and you can afford to spend the money, then make the purchase. You won't regret it. Additionally, if you can afford to buy that next generation card in a few months? Go for it too! You can always keep this one as a backup or sell it. Typically this is what I do every 3-4 years.

Can anyone comment on how quiet this model is when idle or under a low load (e.g. web browsing)? I can't find many reviews of it compared to other brands like EVGA, Gigabyte, and MSI. I like how some models turn the fans off until it gets to a certain temperature.

there is a time where you see the light at the end of the tunnel and would be better to hold off.
why bother buying excavator or steamroller when Zen is on horizon? on other hand, jump from sandy bridge (2nd gen) to kabay lake (7th gen) has been almost nothing. as such you should buy it asap.

the polaris design has been out for 4 years and is a lack luster design, saved only by its price. now with the mining fading away and a new design coming out, i think waiting is perfect valid action to do, unless you need it at this very moment.

Don't buy used miner cards. Let them suffer, they deserve their fate. They screwed over gamers big time, then NVIDIA and AMD helped them screw us even more. It's time gamers screw them right back. Wait for big discounts b/c they are coming and buy new.

I got this card delivered today and it is super quiet during low load. In fact the fans turned on only when i started a Virtual Machine.
