Sougayilang Fishing Rod Telescopic 2.7m/8.8ft $23

I did some research, it appears that 2.7m/8.8ft is the best rod. There are several youtube reviews, one guy pulled in something like 20+lb skate.

A few other models of this rod also has the 30% off coupon but I believe this length (8.9ft) is the sweet spot.

Alternatively, this Mako 8ft seems pretty solid as well. Good reviews for 8ft version. I bought this one too.

This is a cool rod - I have it and got the rec from this guy Ish With Fish - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxFt2maDLjU - probably the same dude mentioned above who pulled in a big bat ray.

He modded his with heat shrink wrap, added some weight into the storage compartment end, cut off a guide and a couple of the ornamental winding checks. I did all the same except cutting off the bottom guide. The rod is good for what it is - not the most sensitive but nice when the fish is on. The second guide tip from the top actually came loose on mine recently - I just superglued it with Loctite so hopefully it stays in place.

There are several different styles of this Chinese rod sold through wish.com. They are sold with different color and shape handles. I paid $9.75 for mine with a discount coupon, but I had to wait for it to come from China.

Yes I saw it from Ish Fish too and liked his mods. A bit too much effort for me though.

Didn't know about wish.com but heard about aliexpress before. Personally I'd rather pay a bit more to buy from amazon/US seller, so I have an option to get my money back if they don't work out. I think this is under kastking name as well. Not a big fan of kastking. I used their braid lines a while back and it was ok strength-wise, but lnot ine diameter-wise (too thick.. probably 4 strands instead of 8.. iike reaction tackle lines). Heard bad things about kastking reels (Alan Hawk for one), like making outrageous claims etc. This one seems ok-ish, or I can return within 30 days if not.

I got 2 of these in different sizes. They are definitely cheapish feeling compared to nicer rods but for what they are, super cheap light telescopic, they have been great. I keep thinking I'm going to break one but so far they have held up

I did the same thing and it broke the first time i extended it. the smallest two sections got stuck in the out position, and could not get them back in tried harder and the damned thing ended up splintering on me!
