how is the weight of this set compared to samsonite windshield or omni? and is this actually a good price? have they been cheaper before?

Edit: I found some info that may help

29" Spinner - 10.75 lbs.

Samsonite Omni

I don't really get why various non-carry-on sizes are made. The small luggage here is not quite full regulation length, while being over regulation depth.

Then what's the purpose of the medium bag? I'm either checking a bag, in which case I don't care how big it is, or I'm carrying on, in which case it needs to be full regulation size.

I just bought a 2-wheel AT carry-on from Amazon, but there's never deals on anything but spinners. My preference is 2-wheel since it maximizes useable volume, is more durable, and doesn't roll away on an incline.

I got this set last year and they may be ok for light travel usage but can't withstand for heavy travel .The quality is not comparable with samsonite and samsonite itself is average quality

I'm really confused why this deal is so popular, yet the $149 deal on Heys luggage set at Costco was voted down.

I looked up the reviews on the Heys and people are saying that those are way too heavy.

They Heys set from Costco is way to heavy!
Each bag is between two and three pounds heavier vs the American Tourister set in the OP. The extra few pounds in weight is a big deal.

If they have open box ones, get them. Last year, got one open box for $125.
It was still in original bags/labels/tape on them. Just the outside box was "regular" cardboard color box.
I took these international travel (France and Italy), and few more trips in US. It held up nicely.
It is stackable.
20" is good for 2 day trips.
24" great for international/4-5 day trips.
29" never used. (Brand new in box still)

These look no different than all the cheap luggage that were $89-99 at home Depot during the holiday season.

Got this set the last time it was this price. All came nestled together in one box. They came with a smell from manufacturing but leaving them out and open for a day got rid of it. Held up well on a direct flight from West coast to east coast and back. The only gripe I have about them is that the inner divider lining has only one zipper as opposed to two.

I bought these around Black Friday at this price. Much nicer than my soft shell rollers. Can't say anything bad about these, the wheels seem strong and they all fit together under my bed 👍.

This is not a good deal. Worse quality than the Home Depot specials from a couple months back for 99$
