Great just check if your hvac can handle these as the rating is on the high side.

put them in your air handler... won't apply if you don't have a central air system.

Filters with high merv/mpr/fpr rating can reduce airflow which would make your hvac system work harder. The air pressure can drop causing which can damage your system. I believe these filters are on the higher end for residential use.

Basically the filter is great at catching smaller particles but reduces airflow which means wasted energy and possibly damaging hvac system if it can't handle it. If you do use these you want to make sure you're changing the filters every three months or so.

Personally I use merv 1900 or mpr 11.

I just buy the cheap $10 for 3 ones at Lowes online with free shipping, and change more often. The whole point of the filter is to catch dust, if the air quality inside your home is that bad, there are other issues going on.

I made the "mistake" of trying these filters a few years back and just can't go back to the cheap ones - I love them. They make a HUGE difference in allergies during pollen season and the overall air quality in my system including a noticeable reduction in dust. Probably because my return air goes through structure plenum instead of ducts. They don't seem to affect the air flow much at all - we still get strong flow through all of our vents.

Regardless of which filters you use, it's important to replace them every 3 months.

Thanks OP!

I bought Filtrete 1500 Ultra Allergen 16x25x1 and 1900 for summer - at Target when they were on sale. I was able to stack the Black Friday 20% off coupon and filled out the $12 rebate form. I did not post this deal because there have been way better deals.

FWIW, every HVAC specialist I've ever met says to just get the cheapest ones and replace more often. No idea if that's accurate at all, but wanted to throw it out there!
