Free for 6 months. From Verizon's website "$9.99/mo per line subscribed to Apple Music applies, unless you cancel viavzw.com/applemusic before the 6-month promotional period ends."
That's the current promo, yes. The article indicates that Verizon has NOT publicly confirmed yet, but the new deal will be for full access to Apple Music, not for just 6 months, but for as long as you have / pay for a qualifying Unlimited Data Plan.

Too bad they didn't include it for all unlimited plans. I may have to switch to Beyond Unlimited once my 6 month trial runs out. The $10 increase is the same price as Apple Music by itself, but I would get faster LTE speeds.

For the "New Verizon Unlimited Data (Feb 2017)" plan, you can only get 6 months' Apple Music for free.

Please change the title of your post: This is free for *only 6 months*. I called Verizon to verify with the rep and they confirmed as much.
Depends on your plan. It's 6 months if you're on the "New Unlimited plan" or the grandfathered (really old) plan, or the "go" unlimited plan. If you're on the new go/beyond/above plan or mix and match plan at the beyond or above levels, then it is included beyond that. The rep was probably not trained properly yet, since it just came out today.

Really stinks it doesn't cover the "New Unlimited Plan." Thanks Verizon for treating long time customers well.

I have an Android but my wife has an iPhone. If I up my plan (only my line) to the unlimited beyond can she still use the free Apple music on her phone? I really don't care that much for it but I was already thinking of uping my line anyways...the throttling is bad sometimes.

Also i priced cost to switch from this plan to beyond unlimited which is basically the same
Plan as the original new unlimited feb 2017 plan and its $20 per month more. I could get a family apple music acct for cheaper and if u pay w iTunes can usually buy costco gc for
Itunes for 0.80 on the dollar (sometimes 0.75).

I'm already on go unlimited, so switching to beyond unlimited would technically putting me a higher priority in the prioritization que for my first 22GB, plus 720p streaming.
