I have been posting this for weeks but slickdeals keeps deleting my post. If you watch newegg, they have this computer in slightly different names being advertised since last August. $1249 is the lowest I have seen it, but I missed black friday.
It has some powerful cards.
It doesn't seem to offer more than 2 RAM slots.
I have heard complaints about the ABS: look at the reviews from other systems on new egg. The computers are all the same with just different video card and memory options.
I believe that if it is always on sale they have access to a steady stream of computers and this is going not going up soon.
Does anyone think the prices will drop even more by March bar a resumed trade war?

Here is my advice and wisdom - coming from a guy that has been building computers for friends, family and myself for ~20 years.

The era of building your own PC to save money is over.

Yes, if you are planning on building a rig that costs more than a couple grand then maybe you can still save some money buy building your own.

Definitely build your own if you are super picky about the parts that are in it. Then again if you are picky about the parts, why? Is it because you are an enthusiast? Is it because a friend/forum told you that's what you needed? Do you really know the difference between the parts besides what the name of the brand is? (just asking, not judging)

Next. If someone tells you that you can build it cheaper, ask them for links to the build/parts (pcpartspicker, newegg, amazon, etc...). Then, did you account for the OS, the PSU, the thermal paste, the case fans & CPU cooling, any special connectors/cables you might need, oh and did you want RGB too? Don't forget it will also take your time and patience to build it too. Saving $50 (if you even can save $50) only to turn around and spend multiple hours researching all your parts, figuring out where to buy them, filling out and waiting for rebates, building the PC and then also troubleshooting any issues that may arise doesn't really make sense if your goal is to save money (time is money).
Bottom line - you can't build a basic computer anymore for less than you can buy one ready to PnP and that is before you even consider your time and energy spent.

Don't get me wrong. I think building a PC is a right of passage for any one interested in computers. It's grown up Lego but way cooler! I enjoy the build process. The joy of completing it and seeing how it performs, even the challenges that pop up along the way such as deciphering the motherboards manual, figuring out where that cord goes (front panel headers anyone) and cable management.

Now, to this particular PC. My only gripe with this PC at this price is that it is only 2666 RAM (would have liked to see at least 3000). Other than that this is a solid PC for that money. Remember there will always be the next deal or the price on a part will drop or go on sale, but if you wait to squeeze every last penny out you are gonna miss out on having the PC for all that time and likely only save a few bucks.

The price is alright, but I wouldn't call it a slickdeal.

No more than (2) RAM slots is not good for me. Thanks for the tip!

This is funny because just yesterday I tried multiple times to post a deal on that group and it wouldn't let. It immediately deleted it.

What do you guys think of this one on Newegg?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Pr...6883152433

Doesn't have an SSD, but for 669 (after $100 MIR) you can throw one in fairly cheap:

Intel Core i5 8th Gen 8400 (2.80 GHz)
8 GB DDR4
2 TB HDD
Windows 10 Home 64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB GDDR5
Virtual Reality Ready

I thinks its a starter but i dont like messing with rebate and if you can spend extra this is a much better system and more future proof gpu

Systems with 2080s with the same or similar build quality have been floating around $1500. Would be wise to go for those instead.
Mind providing a link?

I wouldn't f with a 3GB 1060. There are solid builds for less on pcpartpicker if you can build and if you really need prebuilt then I would hold out for a 1060 6GB or 8GB RX 580.
