This sale has come up a number of times. It feels like another price drop should be coming soon. 🤞

Barely had the willpower to not pull the trigger last time. Looks like I have to deal with another crisis of conscience this week.

Newegg is not an LG official dealer right? Anyone have insight on protections against damage in transit/defects on this vs something like greentoe where it's officially covered?

Newegg and their Seller are Not Authorized Sellers for LG and this has been debated on previous posts on this sale.
With CES just over and many of the Chinese makers HiSense for one with newer technology on their 75U9F the price on this set has to tumble.
For me if it was sub $4500.00 from an Authorized Seller I MAY pull the trigger.
I want one Don't Need one Smilie
As far as Greentoe goes again IMO why go through a broker wait for the tumble and pounce on it!

Right, which is utterly irrelevant- which you can tell by reading the actual LG warranty instead of the scare language on the website.

If it arrives damaged, refuse delivery- same thing I'd do no matter who the seller is.

if the Fedex guy says he won't wait for you to properly inspect/test it tell him his choice is give you 5 minutes to do that, or you won't sign and he can carry it back to his truck, then carry it to your door again tomorrow and get the same choice.

Plus, LG is building the new model on a large panel line that can build 75" much cheaper and will now offer the 88" from the same line; I believe I saw earlier. Much lower prices on the 75" will drop the 77" soon!

...what?

The 2019 4k OLED models will all be exactly the same size as the 2018 (and 2017, etc) models.

55", 65", and 77"

literally the same panels as used last year in fact- though they changed the anti-reflective filter on said panels.

So the 77" remains the largest 4k OLED they offer for the new model year.

The 75" and 88" sets announced are 8k displays. not 4k... and the 75" isn't even an OLED... (the 88" is OLED- so expect it to cost roughly the same as a cheap new car)
