Was excited for this deal, but then realized you would also need the $70+ Lightstrip base. Oh well.

An even cheaper option is to use an alternative zigbee controller that connects into hue hub and a generic light strip. I have this setup in my bookcase and kitchen cabinets. A 5M LED setup cost me $40 when I set it up. By comparison a 2M hue lightstrip retails for $90. You can use hue app to control. https://www.reddit.com/r/Gledopto...do_i_need/

good deal one of the cheapest I've seen. Luckily I stocked up on these last year when bed bath and beyond clearanced the hue stuff out. Think I paid $15 a piece which is the cheapest I've ever seen.

So the only use for this is to link two other strips together or add a few feet? I'm trying to figure out what the need is?

It's just an addition to the base light strip that cost far more than this.

So 6ft retails $80, 3ft extension $20. Makes sense less per ft vs buying another 6ft. Just need to find a reason for extra 3ft lol

If you have gen 2 or older strips look to amazon for adapters that you can make multi connections work with these. Worked well for kitchen cabinet lighting.

I have the base light strip and one extension currently. Thinking of getting 2 more extensions and wrapping around most of my ceiling. Lowest price I've ever seen

I put one on top of the kitchen cabinets for ambient ceiling lights that used about 4 extensions to fully cover it haha

Do you know if they make cables to put a space between an extension and light strip plus? I want to do two shelves but would need to either split between two or split into two from the power adapter.

Huh? Your math makes no sense.

Original Lightstrip is $80 normally (currently $71) for 80"

These extensions are $19 for 40", so 2 of them (80") is $38, which is still $33 cheaper than 1 Lightstrip.

Plus, they then wouldn't be synced, so if you want to use them to control one larger area, you'd need to group them, which is kind of a pain.
