For me, at >4 pounds it weighs barely less than my non-carbon fiber version... so i'll pass.

ya i saw that too. but wasnt sure how accurate that was. BH has the aluminum version and its entire packaging weight was only 4.7 or so so im thinking whats shown might be the packaging weight as well.

Good price for a carbon fiber tripod from Adorama. But a bit heavy at 4lbs. On eBay there are US sellers who offer Chinese made carbon fiber tripods for about half the price.

If you have expensive gear then buy a better set of legs. I have a Feisol ct-3442 tournament carbon fiber tripod. This package from Adorama includes a ball head & the center column. $600. Only 2.76lbs! Very lightweight. Great carbon fiber, I've had these legs since 2012 bought at Adorama but using a Photo Clam ball head. Legs are strong, & vibration is minimal, better than aluminum. Folded down it easily fits in the side of a suitcase in its case w ball head attached. Tall enough for me at 5'8" w/o using center column, altho i use the column occasionally... easy to install/remove. The Rapid legs setup & break down very quickly too...grab all 3 locks at once & twist

I think downvoters get called out too much and/or SDers are too nice to hurt OPs feelings and maybe even afraid a little. I like that everybody who replied regarding the tripod weight made this well known(4.01lbs so not really much greater than 4 lbs). The alu-mag FPH-62Q here is .88lbs so if you subtract that from the weight the tripod is >3lbs(3.13lbs)
