Thanks @iconian, I had waited on it thinking whether to pull the plug or not. Just now placed an order for the 3080!

Which would be a good fit for my JBL speakers? USING SP8II

I have 2 front speakers and two ceiling speakers directly to the left and right of my sofa..and two left and right speakers about 5 FT behind my sofa.

I also plan to have a secondary sound area outside my patio...

Some advice would greatly be appreciated!! Super newbie to this audio thing.. just winging it..

without an additional amp you can run 5.1.2 and zone 2 powered. OR 5.1.4 w/ 2nd 2ch amp for zone 2 . Musiccast is da best! You can also run 7.1.2. This is a 9.2 channel amp with the renowned quality of Yamaha. If reading older reviews you will note they removed the ability to transmit to BT headphones. This has been added back, and the 2018 models have an all new revised gui interface that is more user friendly.

7 HDMI in / 3 Out. Its the flagship Aventage piece, Yamaha doesnt charge as much for their AVRs for a few reasons. They use their own speaker calibration software called YPAO , While it is not as great as Audessey they make up for it in DSP and 2 CH quality. I am a long time Denon/Marantz supporter that is jumping over to Yammys sooner or later. Have no need for HDMI 2.1

A former Yamaha owner here. Jumped ship to a Marantz SR-7012 a few weeks ago and I am enjoying this Marantz receiver so much that I begin to think people are hallucinating or are drinking Yamaha Kool-aid when they compare the RX-A3080 to this Marantz receiver which can do more for almost half the price.
