You are just confusing people and also repeating what I said.

I included the link to the product support page that mentions ALL the features unlike the product page and it mentions DTS 5.1 explicitly.

Then you repeated what I said about lack of passthrough from rting.com which mentions DTS capability but lack of passthrough.

The ability to decode and play DTS by itself and the ability to passthrough are TWO different things. Don't confuse people with this if you don't understand this.

Bottom line: If you play any source with DTS audio through the TV, it will be hard through its speakers (of course in 2 channels). No problem there.

IF you are depending on the TV passing through the DTS signal (via ARC or Optical) which you have connected to a Home Theater System for sound, THEN you won't get DTS at the HT amp.

On the other hand, if you are feeding the signal to TV through the HDMI on your HT system as many do, then you will have DTS sound since the HT system does not need to depend on the passthrough return from the TV.

Clear enough?

I bought a 65" TV back in 2013 and will never use more than the built in sound. Why? Because who the needs a 300watt sound bar or 500w AVR + 5.1 speakers to watch The Office, Big Bang Theory or Brooklyn 99? Because watching regular ass cable tv shows and a few youtube videos is 99% of what we use it for.

Lets also stop pretending 65" is some sort of movie screen. Unless you live in a 2bedroom apt.. chances are you have a decent sized family/living room or den in your home. And if you DO live in a apt.. chances are you cant even crank the sound up on an extraordinary system without the neighbors banging on the ceiling.

If you have a decent size family room (200sq/ft).. then a 65" of screen is probably the proper size needed just to see the 4k/1080p. Hell if you sit further than 14ft away from a 65" 1080p screen and you might as well be watching 720p content.. because the average human eyesight can't discern the difference between 720p and 1080p at that distance.

As far as surround sound. Its great, but it also has it purposes. It's primarily useful when watching movies or in a dedicated home theater room. And if you looking for a cinema type experience.. chances are you are going much bigger than 65". A 1080p projector & 120" screen is a good start.. and a combination you can get anytime for under $1000.

Some people, like myself, tend to build up their home theatres slowly picking up deals on units and components along the way.

I have way too little time to thoroughly test and too much buyer's remorse to buy so many things in short spans of time. I imagine there are a lot of people who also just value their money way too much and want to get the best bang for their buck.

Beware All 2018 samsung tv doesn't support Dts. Most 4K movies has DTS fyi
Are you sure? Which ones don't? Even the early Samsung 4k TVs had DTS support. However, some didn't have Dolby Digital Plus (eac3 codec).

Samsung's product description says DTS is not supported. However Dolby is.
