WTF are you talking about you clueless troll! This is an exceptional budget CPU that blows away the Pentiums because of the great integrated graphics and it uses very little power. When the new 7nm Ryzen's are released and unseat Intel what will you do? Continue to pay $500 for the overpriced Intel CPU's because they can muster a few extra FPS in certain titles? What a useless and ignorant post!

Where is the g4400 going for $30? The lowest price I saw after a quick search was $50.

And the Athlon is about 30% faster.

The max TDP is 35w for the Athlon vs. 54w for the Pentium, some people run the GE200 with passive cooling, no fan noise.
Also if you are building a PCTV the Athlon has a hope of playing 2160p at 60Mhz (my 2200G does, anyway), while the G4400 is more likely to be limited to 24Mhz.

And as mentioned before, this is a great place-holder CPU, when the next generation of 7nm Zen 2 APUs start to be discounted in a year or so you can pop one in, speculation is that even this year's 12nm APUs are going to be powerful and reasonable.

CPU Cores/Threads Base clock Turbo clock TDP Price
Ryzen 3 3300G 6/12 3.0GHz 3.8GHz 65w $129
Ryzen 5 3600G 8/16 3.2GHz 4.0GHz 95w $199

These are nice for budget systems and like kit10dog says they can even game on low settings.

For $50 a dual core with hyperthreading and integrated graphics is a nice stand in for those waiting on the next gen Ryzen processors too.

Good deal if you are absolutely cash strapped. Can even play some games on low settings. But even if 2x more expensive R3 2200G is still worth it over this. And R5 2600 is worth it at 3x the price.... and so on

There are motherboards that have unlocked overclocking for this CPU, and it will of to be very similar in performance to the 2200g. Google it. Great little CPU.

is g4400 for $30 better value?
the mb support 200GE could also support 3000 ryzen cpus so its not. g4400 is 2c2t and this one 2c4t with much Powerful integrated gpu.

I have this chip, overall I am impressed as a secondary work computer.
1) Streams videos perfectly
2) Total system power when this thing is crushing it is around 40 watts.
3) I was able to overclock it on my MSI b350 board
4) Runs quiet, Cool, and I can play some of my Indie games off steam without issue.
5) Oh yeah, does work stuff just fine Wink
