Seems to be a good price but as an FYI these 31" are technically too large for most airlines for their check in size. (The limit for many is 62" and this one is measured as 64") So this could be a great bag for someone who wants to use it for other travel but not air travel.

Yeah, just pay a fee — United and American oversized fee is $200, but Southwest is a bargain at $75. All fees are each way.

Who would knowingly risk taking a chance on paying an extra $400 round trip to get a "deal" on a piece of $100 luggage?

It is oversized, but I think you can pay a fee to haul it.

I would only get 28" suitcases, since their total dimensions add up to 62" or less.

Who wants to pay that fee all the time for something that's just slightly over though...

There is most definitely a fee, but that's just like saying you can get a nicer one if you pay a little bit more. That's how money works, right? ha.

maybe someone with a nice 31" suitcase Smilie
I would guess most airlines that fly international wouldn't care much, as long as your bag is under 50lbs.

28" suitcase is massive anyway

Yes, I have this - good for Qatar, Emirates and Air France - for international travel.
Pretty Solid and reliable in my opinion. Heavy but very easily maneuverable.
