Stanley ERK1S Emergency Roadside kit with Jumper Cables $5 Walmart B&M YMMV

Was at my local Walmart looking for motor oil. At tire services, saw a clearance sign for this Stanley Emergency Roadside Kit for $11, but when I scanned it with my Walmart app it came out to just $5.

This kit isn't the best as a lot of the pieces are pretty cheap in quality but the jumper cables alone are already worth $5. Maybe the 1 year Roadside Assistance is worth something? Grabbed one for my sister, mother & grandparents.

Brickseek shows my area has some stores carrying it for $5 and some for $11.

In the kit:
8' Booster/Jumper Cables
Tire Patch Kit (pictured on Walmart's website, not pictured on the actual kit, and not included in the kit)
Headlamp (with 3xAAA batteries)
Tire Repair Tools (not included in this kit, mentioned on Walmart.com)
Carry case
Reflective triangle
12 ft strap
5 Piece Magnetic Tip Screwdriver
1 Fabric Blanket
1 Pair of Safety Gloves
1 Rain Poncho
10 Zip Ties
Electric Tape Roll
Slip Joint Pliers
Bandage Kit
Priority Auto Assistance Membership for 1 Year (Roadside Assistance)

Roadside Assistance (Priority Auto Assistance) Activation Card website: http://www.priorityautoassistance.com/ [priorityautoassistance.com]

Appears the Roadside Assistance is provided by National Motor Club according to fine print: https://nmc.com/

It's not bad for $5. I'd put it 8n the better than nothing category, at a good price.

Tools are kind of like harbor freight's freebies, not top quality Stanley stuff. Jumper cables might give you a boost if the battery is just low but they're short and not particularly heavy. I mean I have an old set of 6ft all copper 6 gauges and those can just barely start a car. These are probably copper coated aluminum which seems to be the norm now.

I mean if you don't have any of the stuff it's worth $5. The jumper cables are what's worth most in the set.

I'd be more inclined to go to Ollie's and get the $20 2 gauge Popular Mechanics ones if I was in a cooler climate.

$5 jumper cables are worth nothing. I've had jumper cables like this and they literally would not jump. Someone pulled out a thick gauge set and the car jumped immediately.

looked at all the items in there sooo crappy no wonder.
they cannot sell for 30 dollars.

I wouldn't pay any money for the crap inside...
LMAO...smh.

only thing even remotely worth it may be the jumper cables but they are 8 gauge 1 use and dead most likely.

Why would you need jumper cables if you are enrolled in road side assistance? Perhaps to play Good Samaritan to a fellow traveler in need?
You may not be in an area with good cell service or it may take them a long time to get to you when all you need is a five minute jump from someone nearby. And yes, Good Samaritan is always a good use. I have jumper cables in both my cars and have only used them on other people's cars.

A headlamp; what a sensible idea! Maybe other emergency roadside kits offer this but most of the time it's a flashlight. If you're really lucky one with a magnetic base. A headlamp is so useful because it frees up both hands to change a tire, pour coolant into the radiator overflow tank, etc, etc.

This would be great gift for a son/daughter or nephew/niece just starting out with their first car.

I've got a heavy gauge set, I bought about 30+ yrs ago, & they have never failed me. (Got tired of the cheap ones) I loaned them to someone once, & they tried to say they didn't work. I used them, just the other day, (to jump start this same person) & they worked just fine. Obviously they didn't have them connected securely.
