YMMV - Google Chromecast 2nd generation @ $9 @ Walmart or $ 7.95 @ Staples (if they do price match in your area)

My local walmart store has google chromecast available for $9 , but since staples was closed to my place I gave a shot their first to check if I can get it in the same price.

Brickseek - https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...u=46708712

Walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/Google...10&veh=aff

Luckily my local staples store also had chromecast generation 2 available for 19.5 in the clearance section.

Product URL - https://www.staples.com/Google-Ch...ai-feo=off

On asking if they do the price match , they matched the price by 110% with my local Walmart where it is available for $9.

Actual Price = 19.5
110 % price guarantee $9.00 = - 11.55
Total = 7.95

Price matching at Best Buy was already 100% difficult, imagine this!

Shouldn't the deal be more about the $9 Chromecast at Walmart?
Thanks. Yeah but I was unsure of that. I thought i bought it from staples so its a staples deal.

You price matched it at Staples. If [insert store here] has the product and a price matching policy, I could price match it there too. However, Walmart is the source of the deal for $9. Since the $9 is in store only, and if they check to see if *your* local store has it, this deal (as written with the Staples 110% match) becomes highly YMMV on top of an in-store only YMMV. Usually, posts are written with the original source of the deal. This should be $9 in-store at Walmart YMMV, preferably with a link to BrickSeek. Beyond that, there's nothing wrong with pointing out that other stores have it and will price match (also noting that's YMMV).

Personally, I don't think a 2nd gen Chromecast for $9 is a bad deal (though I'm sure some will disagree, and that's fine). I do, however, think the post was some combination of inaccurate, misleading, and lacking. If you search, there was a post back in December for the $9 Chromecast at Walmart with a mention of Best Buy price matching....that had a +205 score.

Nice post. No one is forced to read anything. In the larger scheme of things happening in the world who cares if it's $7.95 or $9? I mean people give the poster a break. If you want it get it. If not move on. Makes no sense to discourage him - in fact he was clear about what he did and even if replication requires a little luck and effort.
