I walked into my local Home Depot in Southern California and saw three Traeger pellet grill / smoker models at the entrance. A Traeger rep saw me admiring them and talked up the Traeger Renegade Pro. Apparently Home Depot overbought and wanted them cleared out.
I paid $399 + tax. The rep threw in a free bag of pellets (I chose hickory, but mesquite and apple were also options) and a promise to send me a free cover for the grill (we'll see if it arrives). Retail price of the cover is $50, and the pellets are roughly another $20. So you could say the grill itself was $329 if you were planning to buy a cover and pellets anyway.
Retail price on Amazon and homedepot.com is $749 for just the grill.
Brickseek isn't showing a price but instead listing "Clearance" when I search locally.

I bought a pitboss a few years ago. I think the hopper part is practically identical to the traeger.
Pitboss is 1/2 the price of trager.
Here is the one I recommend this one does not have the wifi option.
