YES. This is better than the combo you're renting from Xfinity.
YES. You will need a wireless router to go along with this.
YES. This DOES NOT have a telephone jack on it for you cavemen/women out there not using VOIP yet. Wink

Costco will price adjust if you submit your price adjustment online (assuming you bought it online at costco.com). They have a price adjustment form here [costco.com] So no need to return and rebuy.

Depends on what you have currently. If it's able to handle 100mbps, the upgrade is unnecessary. Spend your money on a good router instead.

So I went ahead and picked one up, called comcast, gave them mac and SN, went thru 14 levels of confirming my account.
They "activated the modem" and it took about twenty minutes till the internet was back up and running.

Now to head to UPS store and drop off the comcast modem for them to ship it back for me for free so no more monthly rental

Yup!

Even if they gave you a hard time, just buy another, and return the new sealed box on the old receipt.

Is it the same price in store? Usually is, or cheaper, depending on the item.

Might just pick it up to upgrade my SB6141 modem finally.
