End of Life (Auto Update Expiration Date) for this model is August 2019.

After that date there is no guarantee that it will continue to receive security or software updates.

It will continue to work though.

When it goes on sale, you can get a touchscreen version for this price. Since the touchscreen version didn't hit FP, this won't either. But still a good price

I found a 4GB RAM, touchscreen version of this model several months ago on Ebay for the same net price (it was actually $75 w/ $15 shipping). Refurb shops have these models pretty often. Even w/ 4GB it's on the sluggish side, I don't know how usable it would be w/ only 2GB. The TN screen is bad, even by TN standards. Very washed out, horrible viewing angles. Unless there is some sort of weird discrepancy w/ the 4GB model, this should actually have a removable 16GB 2240 M.2 SATA hard drive, not eMMC. The 4GB model is decent for something to give to a kid, or to have something small just to use on the go if you swap a bigger hard drive and install Linux. GalliumOS is designed for Chromebooks and works very well. I would pass on the 2GB model even at $40-60.

Gotta pick up something for my daughter to bring to class in college that is smaller and lighter than her laptop, and can't give up touch screen. Have you seen anything out there you would recommend? Thank you very much.

Once you clean the dinosaur crap off an old C720 you'll find it just as fast as most Chromebooks made today. Great machines but being a refurb and it's age should make most pass on this one. I'm typing this on a 2012 Acer C710!!!!!!Smilie
