Amazon miscategorized 1984 as a dystopian novel.

It is a historical textbook.

These are such great and important books. Everyone should read and own these. Maybe I should pickup a digital copy as well before Farenheit 451 becomes our reality. Smilie

I just bought both and those reviews must have been from a previous version because I didn't notice typos in either one.

Interesting, thanks. I wish Amazon provided better filtering for their reviews so that it would be possible to be sure that the reviews were applicable.

Thanks. I picked up Animal Farm (one of my favorites) and Burmese Days. I already had physical copies. I already own 1984 in both physical and Kindle formats.

I agree. The same review for both editions of 1984 with no distinction between them.

I wonder how long it will take for amazon to "memory hole" these editions?

Hah... I just watched the latest "Fahrenheit 451" this week. That article (from 2009) is precisely why we need physical copies of books, not digital. As long as some organization out there has access to your kindle, they can delete anything they want from it. Even worse, they could modify the text within books. They could even make it look like Ray Bradbury wrote 1984, if they wanted to.

Run them through Calibre after you buy them, strip off all the DRM. They are now yours forever.

Exactly!

Then ditch the Kindle and check out the Kobo Aura One!
