Found these hammers in the tool section at my local Home Depot store. My store, and most stores in the area, appear to have plenty in stock according to Brickseek. As always, Home Depot clearance deals are B&M only and YMMV.

Thanks! Grabbed the 20oz for $6.20. Seems like a well-made hammer.

Picked up 2 each for my neighbor & I. He said Hart makes good hammers. He prefers wooden handle for framing, I'm guessing that's if your doing that all day.

They were out of the hatchet. Wish I would have thought to get the SKU# so I could BrickSeek it.

No prices marked around me but plenty in stock at the $6. I price checked with an employee and they were surprised.

Hart makes good items in general not just limited to hammers, I would get in on this if not for those Craftsman freebies that are loitering aroundBig Grin Sears Deadthread

Found a couple on the rack with the $6 price tag. Grabbed them both and the 18 oz rang up for 29.97 and the 20oz was $6 sent the 18 oz back! Repped!

Plenty of hatchet at my local HD for $7 but the 20oz & 21oz scanned at full price. Btw, while I looked for these, saw the Estwing deadhead mallet for $2.90.

Wood absorbs and discipates more of the vibration and shock impact to the hand and wrist than does metal. Metal sends it back right at your body.
