Nice price. I'd go for it if I hadn't bought this just the other day from RottenEgg.

I've got the 5 port metal version from tplink that's been rock solid. Been waiting for a good price on this one. Also I went to check on past prices in camel CCC and their site is down due to hardware issues. Go donate if you've used that site and love it like I do! CCC will be up tomorrow with data recovered.

What exactly would you be doing in a home or small office that would exceed that rate on a sustained basis?

BTW bought one from the egg and its been working well for a while. But I've seen this model go on sale around this price numerous times in the last few weeks. Is it being discontinued or is there a problem with recent manufacturing runs?

Nice that it has built in QoS.

Poor guys had 3 disks in a raid array go all at once. Surprised the raid controller didn't report any issues.

Anyhow, they're replacing all 12 drives they're using since the rest are the same age. And having to recover data from the 3 dead drives as their last backup would leave out a bunch of new users and product/price data. $50K. They have a donate button on your page if you want to help them out.

This or the Netgear switch on Amazon on sale for the same price?
I'd never use Netgear for business applications after some of the experiences I've had.
I might tolerate it for home use at this price, however.

I've owned switches since they were 10Mb/s ones and have at least a dozen gigabit and a few 100Mb/s ones still kicking around.

None except the netgear ones I bought have ever broken, as its pretty simple stuff, no moving parts and not much heat.

In fact I bought this one to replace a metal can netgear that wasn't even a year old. It was always hot to the touch and so was the a/c adapter. This one is cool to the touch and so is te adapter.

Netgear wants you to pay to ship back the dead one at your own cost for warranty replacement. And expect to spend a long time on the phone with the offshore support working off a script.

The only router I've ever had break, going back to when they were wireless b 2.4ghz was an expensive netgear R8500. Dropped dead at 13 months. When I put a 1* review on amazon after they refused to give me a break since it was 1 month out of warranty, they responded on amazon that they'd replace it and never did.

No more netgear for me.

My tp-link, linksys and onhubs have never given me any trouble whatsoever.

Absolutely Netgear!
TP-Link is just a garbage.

Your angry drivel is not helpful. Instead of calling things garbage maybe you should post some sources showing why.

Otherwise, these have thousands of positive reviews that totally disagree with you.

Furthermore, at $17 - who cares if they fail in a year or two? They're practically disposable at this price..
