Uber - $20 Off First Ride (New Customers Only)

Just returned from a trip from Vegas. All the MGM Properties have a promo code for Uber. It will give you $20 off your first ride. This is for new customers only. Most Uber codes now a days are just $5 off your first three rides. This will give you up to $20 off your first ride and the best part it does not expire till the end of the year. So you can sign up now and use when you need to.

Promo codes they all work the same so just a selection:
  • MGMGRAND2
  • ParkMGM3
  • LUXOR2
  • MANDALAYBAY2
  • EXCALIBUR2
  • BELLAGIO2
  • MIRAGE2
  • CIRCUSCIRCUS2

You of course can only have one account per phone number but between my family members and work phones we were able to use for 5 rides. This includes a ride from the airport in San Diego so it doesn't appear to be locked to only Vegas.

Promo Offer Terms and Conditions
To redeem offer, you must apply the advertised promo code in the promotions tab of your Uber app prior to requesting a ride. Only new, first-time Uber users are eligible. Uber will apply discount of up to $20 at the point of sale. Limit 1 discounted ride per Uber account and per person. If the cost of a ride is less than $20, you will only receive a discount of the cost of that ride and you will not receive the difference between the cost of that ride and $20. If the cost of a ride is more than $20, the remaining balance of the cost will be charged to the credit/payment card associated with your Uber account.

The discounted cost of a ride will be displayed on your post-ride email receipt. Fulfillment of this offer is the sole responsibility of Uber. MGM Resorts International and its resorts, casinos and properties are not responsible for the provision of or failure to provide the stated benefits and services. Offer may not be combined with any other offers. Void where prohibited.

Of course always tip your driver.

I was at CES in LV a few weeks ago and Yelp rates killed Uber by quite a bit. I took 11 rides with Lyft and not once did Uber come within $5. The downside to most hotels for pickup is that rideshare is designated to a hotel basement or somewhere that's not convenient. Stayed at SLS and delivery/pickup is right out front just like the taxis.

Humm, I checked Lyft also and it was within a dollar or so of the actual full fare of Uber when I was in Vegas. With the $20 it was a no brainer to go with Uber. Best Lyft new sign up was $5 off each trip. Good chance it was surging when CES was in town and that was the difference between the two.

Btw just a FYI for everyone, in case you dont want to hurt the drivers, they get paid the same if we use a promo or not. I believe in tipping but to each their own.

I doubt it since it says off a ride. That would be a killer deal if so. Too bad google voice no longer works for account sign ups.

I used this at CES a few weeks ago as well. Basically got a free ride back to the airport. My first time using Uber or any other service. Wish my small town had this service coming home from the Bar. Going to Miami in a few weeks, I wonder if we can use the coupon again under her account but same Credit Card.

Yeah I used the same credit card number for my last trip with no issues.

OP, Good timing, we are leaving for las vegas tomorrow.
Never used UBER before, I signed up uber account last week through a link for new customer $5 off of your first three rides.
I haven't confirmed the phone yet nor download the app. Do you know if I still qualify for this offer?

You can try to add the promo code. It may give an error saying another promo code was already entered. It doesn't hurt to try.

Have a blast in Vegas, hopefully it's for pleasure and not business.

I tried entering some of the codes, but it kept saying, "A new user code has already been applied to your account." I don't see any new user code in my account. I've never taken Uber before, either. Does anyone know what's wrong?

Do you get better rates going through Yelp than thru Lyft directly?
