The Hi-Res Music Player for Everyone

Slimmer lighter and even more compact the MegaMini Hi-Res Portable Music Player is a high-resolution music player that performs like other high-end players but at a fraction of the price and with longer battery life. Try the MegaMini with a high-end headphone and you wont believe the sound.
Forget about MP3. Enjoy music like you're in the middle of a concert right in front of your favorite singer band or orchestra. Enter a brave new world of high-fidelity.

Highlights
8000 Songs in Your Pocket
The MegaMini supports TF card capacity up to 256GB which equals roughly 8000 lossless tracks.
Outstanding Battery Life
The MegaMini boasts an impressive 15-hour battery life. That's like driving from Los Angeles to Denver or flying from Shanghai to New York. Listen to music for long periods of time without worrying about quick-draining battery life.
Intuitive User Interface
HIFIMAN spent many years looking for a user-friendly interface that was at the same time easy to use visually appealing and intuitive. They struck gold with the MegaMini

The LG V20 is well known to be the best cell phone for audiophiles, so not really a fair comparison to most phones which arent known to have the quality DAC of the V20.

As for the product itself, honestly unless you have a set of true audiophile headphones there is no point in getting this product. FLAC is pointless for most people who cant hear the difference between a 128kbps and FLAC (check a sound quality test website to truly see if you can, most people cant... I can barely tell unless I've heard the song a bunch and it has decent mastering).

Also Hifiman is known for shoddy build quality (check out most of their headphones... awesome sound but they break and fall apart very easily).

Seriously unless you've got a good pair of top quality headphones (No Beats, Bose, Skullcandy, or any bluetooth sets) this is absolutely pointless. As most others have said your phone will get the job done and not require you to carry around a second device. This seems like a fair price for the unit, but again only if you have a set of Sennheisers, AKGs, or some other known audiophile grade headphone don't bother.

Nah, not really. Also, your phone certainly supports more then 8 formats. This is really a niche product that really just serves as a cheap mp3 player

My LG V20 has a built in DAC and supports all major formats including FLAC.

Going for a run. So you don't have to risk dropping a $500 phone Wink

Do agree this thing is 10 years late, even when it was new -- but it's still kinda neat, in a retro kind of way.

Man... I was going to pull the trigger until I read the review in Amazon.com...
https://www.amazon.com/HIFIMAN-Me...layer&th=1

It might be worth $50 if you wanted to bet on it. Still thinking about it...

Dumb question. Why would I carry two devices when I have what I need in a phone?

I'm saving up for the M5 and am thinking of getting the M0 to hold me off in the mean time. I've been using the AK Jr for a while but can't stand the interface.

Still trying to figure out how to get my car to play FLAC files. It has a USB port but doesn't read my FLAC files. I can always use my AUX port but I imagine the quality won't be as good.

Your phone only has like 8 formats for processing music so it's limited in quality. This unit has more capability to process different types of music to
Provide better quality across the board instead of the few offerings of the iPhone. That is my understand from previous threads here

I was about to pull the trigger on the M0 then I saw this Hifiman. Amz just delivered the player. OMG, the sound quality is incredible. I think I'll keep this Hifiman and get the BTR1K to pair with the phone. Both for the same price of the M0.

I upgrade my phone every year and all the flagships that I have had, the sound quality of them is not that good. They're not powerful enough to drive a decent IEM or headphone.
If you're happy with the earbuds included in your phone's box then a DAP likes this is useless to you.
