You probably won't get much selling to one of these retailers. You might better off selling locally on CL like Kensic mentioned. You could also list your equipment on sites such as DPReview, Dyxum, Fred Miranda, Ugly Hedgehog, or similar photography forums. A local photography club might be good option too. With that said, you might come out all right considering the trade in bonus plus the low trade in value given by B&H, Adorama, Buydig etc... About 18 months ago Sony had one of these trade in events and after the trade in bonus plus the low trade in value I received for my a77 I came out better than if I would have sold my camera on the open market. I bought the a7rII. I hope this helps.

Any opinion on how the used market is for Alpha lenses? I have about 10 that I've been sitting on for several years now. I was originally waiting on the A77iii, but Sony abandoned APS-C. I've mostly moved on from photography, too, and it would be nice to recoup some money for other interests since I sunk thousands into glass.

Repost. Just combine the different retailers into the same thread. It's the same promotion. makes me think that this is a sponsored deal.

I've been wanting to get the Sony A7r II for this price. Just have to trade in a cheap lens.

Again, probably a lot less than you would get selling it another way. The best way to maximize these trade-in deals is to use a really cheap lens just to get the trade-in bonus. (Find a $10 lens on craigslist or eBay if you don't have one.)

Of course, if you're not expecting much from your trade-in or don't want to go through the hassle of selling privately, then doing it this way is an option. You can submit your equipment details using the page linked in the OP or call the store and they'll tell you how much to expect.

Hmm, wonder if I could use this to offload my OMD EM10 mark i... but many buying into a new system is pricey. What is the best bang-for-the-buck 50mm prime to use with the a7 series?

Best price I've seeing in a while. People say their lenses are expensive and that's damn true. Their APS-C is limited as others have mentioned. Overall I've been investing more in my MFT and Fuji system then my Sony lately.

Also wondering the same thing, thinking about reaching out to them because I would be all over this if it does stack.
