Nopes. Unlike the Intel model which has single memory slot, this one has two of them and in fact it comes with two 4gb modules for dual channel. You can replace each of them with 16gb module, totalling 32gb. 16gb is the max size at which Lenovo offers it.

There's a similar deal for Lenovo Flex 14 on the same site. The specs 'seem' same. Can anyone tell how these similar spec'd laptops are different? I don't care for touchscreens, gaming or watching movies on a laptop.

$350 lenovo 330s was better deal. if this is $400 i would be all over it
Not really. This laptop is every way better than 330s which is the most value oriented offering.

I was actually going to get this one because I also like normal laptop vs the hybrid/flex model but the flex is $50 cheaper with the discount and the specs or more or less the same (except flex has touch screen)

Difference with this one is 128gb vs 256gb ssd, backlit keyboard for this one, and a bigger battery. The 14 in screen might mean that the overall size is slightly smaller than 15.6 in screen. The bigger battery on this one might be useful if you were planning to travel with it.

I've been playing around with the $350 330s from last week, and aside from the battery life, I really have no complaints for it. It's plenty of power for light use laptop used plugged in at home.

From Crucial website https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/co...530s-14arr

1 slot of RAM with 8gb installed (removable). The 330s had 4gb soldered in place + 4gb removable.

For comparison the 330s on Crucial website https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/co...330s-15arr matches the 330s I have.

The way I read it, for 530s, if you could install 2x 8gb chips, wouldn't they say 2 banks or offer 2x chip packages they have?

Really depends on what matters to you. What sealed the deal for me on the 330S is that BB had open box excellent for as low as $320.

Specs wise these are very similar except for the larger SSD, which is about a $10-20 difference. 530s has a better build (full metal vs partial). Backlit keyboard is a nice-to-have, but not an absolute must for me.

It sure would have been nice to see a link that would back you up on what you're saying here.

I'll vote this up for just talking about the max RAM on this Applause
