Corsair CX Series CX450 450W 80+ Bronze Power Supply

Cheap for an efficient 450 watt but the 750 watt on the same page has my eye ;o) 53.99 after rebate, wonder if the code works, will report back

I've been running older versions of this PSU (Corsair CX400/430) over the last 9 years in 4 non-gaming PCs for family members without issue. They've survived multiple platform upgrades and I've yet to see a single one fail or give me any issues.

This is all the power most people will ever need. I even have one powering the wife's PC, which I recently upgraded to my old i7 4770K + GTX 1060, while I wait for a nice Seasonic sale.

That 750w sounds appealing after jumping on a EVGA 600w 80 plus for $26.99. Running 3 HDD, a old 120gb Kingston SSD, and a optane module for the array or whichever is the correct term. Running a gtx 970 I recently snagged on the goodwill site for $121. It's a B360 Gaming Plus, so I can't SLI, but I put the 970 in the 16x PCI and the 960 in the 8x, though they may share lanes on the i3-8350k. Crossfire is just less appealing to me when I am finally getting to the point where I can run most any game on decent quality settings for the first time and I'm 30 now with only Nvidia cards. I was close to jumping on the RX 580 8g around $160 or 180. Rx570 is cheap now also. How I raided in WoW at a high level with at best a GT 640 and AMD fx-6100 and that was literally the last 2 months I played. Literally 1/4 to maybe 1/2 FPS during the heavy AOE fights. Anub 'arak all but froze due to the fact that 20ish people 9 stacked in the fray all doing as much area damage as they can.
Makes me feel like a pro the way I could still be near or top of either dmg or healing. Miss that incredibly addicting and fulfilling game. Basically replacing my travel baseball team. Hooked instantly

Too bad it's not the SF450 for that price

might not be avail but you may want to consider the Thermaltake TPD 750W - believe both units were made by CWT

I have been using these Corsair PSUs for years to replace failed Dell PSUs, in fact just installed one in an old Dell Vostro 420 for my father this past weekend. I usually keep one on hand for a spare - I may have to pick this one up for $16 "just in case" :-) No issues ever with a Corsair rebate.

Those older power supplies (at least the CX 400) used different quality internals and they weren't $16AR. I have one that was built by Seasonic. This one is not. The recent cheap Corsair power supplies, that I've purchased, have been absolute trash. Please be careful.

Confusing post, you say they're trash but the review you linked actually said this as their conclusion... "However, the CX430 proved to be a terrific entry-level power supply."

Just replaced a Corsair CX 650 that failed after 5 1/2 years. Just out of the warranty period. Replaced with a TX550M for $59.97 after MIR 1 week ago. Now I wish this was an option then.

So YOU'RE the one who got the card. I was watching it but didn't feel like pursuing once it got over $100. Nice to know it works!

Question/advice. I'm currently building a new rig. I upgraded my case to a Corsair 750d. My old PSU is sufficient power wise, but the cabling is really being stretched to make use of cable management. If I choose to get a new PSU, is there a way to select one with longer reach power connection?

When is newegg going to rid of their damn rebates. I haven't bought from them in years solely because of hassle rebates.
