Amazon currently has the Mauviel Made In France M'steel Black Steel Frying Pan, 14-Inch for $50.00. This pan normally sells for about twice that and this price is cheaper than the same pan in 12.5" and 11" sizes. Been watching this and the DeBuyer brand for a few months and this is the best price I've seen the larger pans at.

  • MADE IN FRANCE. Made of extra thick black steel /carbon steel. Iron handles. Excellent heat conduction –ideal for searing.
  • HIGH PERFORMANCE. Commercial grade durability withstands high temperature allowing for longer preheating and excellent searing capabilities.
  • NATURAL NON-STICK. Before first use, season the pan per manufacture recommendations. The pan will build up a natural nonstick property and darken overtime.
  • CAN BE USED ON ALL COOKING SURFACES. Gas, electric, induction, halogen stovetops, and in the oven.
  • GUARANTEE. All Mauviel products are guaranteed for life against any manufacturing defects for household use.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Is this the lowest price? 3 camels have been down for awhile due to hard drives failure and they don't have money for repair.

Thanks OP! I must have missed picking up one of the "3 remaining". Got in (hopefully) but it is now 1-2 months shipping.

I am a big fan of the Keepa chrome extension for price tracking.

Have the 9 inch pan, once you season these pans the correct way they are pretty non stick if cooked the right way, quality manufacturer, great cookware, just not sure if I need this larger one or I would pull the trigger.

That's surprising. You'd think with all the money they've supposedly saved they could afford a new hard drive or two.
They want public donations.

Price is good, but 14" is large and will be fairly heavy (less than an equivalently sized cast iron pan, but still quite heavy). If this deal dies, Matfer Bourgeat has a 14-1/8" pan for $68. Personally, I think the sweet spot in size for most families is likely the 12.5" size.

If you pick one up, spend a little time learning how to season, cook with it, and clean it. It's an excellent pan for eggs.

How is this any different besides weight to a seasoned cast iron skillet?

Lol. You think they can't afford it? I donated, but I would imagine they make that much in a month or less.
