If it comes with a USB cable - 100% fake. Sony doesn't include them.
If serial sticker on back is white rather than black - fake.
If top half of box front is not solid dark blue and has the XO graphics - fake.
If it weighs less than 218 grams without box - fake. My fake sunset orange weighs 207 grams, my real one weighs 218.
These are not regional differences.

The matte design feels better in the hand slightly as its not as slippery, although the originals aren't all that slippery.
