These are getting cheap. I was gonna get a gtx 1060 but this seems like a better deal. Only concern is whether my HP workstation can handle it. It only has 6pin gpu power cables and psu is proprietary so can't upgrade it.

Worthy upgrade over my 7950? It would be paired with an Intel i5 4430.
I would recommend upgrading motherboard and CPU also if you can. You will be CPU bounced in newer games games and won't be able to take full advantage of the new card.

One nice thing about AMD systems is that the socket doesn't change often like Intel. So it is easier to upgrade your CPU and GPU without needing to swap out your motherboard if your budget is really tight.

Wanted the games and needed something for my wife's sister system. Don't like rebates so got PowerColor 570 version for 139 instead (also on newegg)

update: That deal for PowerColor is gone.

If you're being a 4gb card in 2019 you're gonna have a bad time. Like the GTAV performance is BAD and any high texture game is gonna stress this easily. Not to mentioned the extra power requirement. It's an okay budget card I guess. But if you're going from a 970 or 980 for example you're gonna wanna put a little more money into the higher Vram.

Definitely a side grade from a 7950.

a 580 with 8gb would Barely be an upgrade.

Going from 7950, you'd need something like a 1070 or 1080 to really FEEL IT.
Was going to say the same thing, a sidegrade. My absolutely ancient 7850 is actually not far behind this 570 in actual real world gaming FPS, which is quite a surprise given the on paper hardware difference. Actually my ancient 7850 is faster in GTA V. Edit: link. https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-RX-570-vs-AMD-HD-7850/3924vs2182

I'm another proud owner of a Twin Frozr 7950... Card is 7 years old and I'm still getting 60fps 95% of the time, on high settings at 1080p. Love this baby

These budget card prices are going no where but down because of the massive oversupply from mining crash..

Also, doesn't make sense to buy this , because 580 8gb sapphire cards are ~$150 used on ebay, and they'll last forever even after mining because of big heatsinks and robust vrm design.

Everyone's waiting for the firesale. nod
Does the Ebay card come with the free games. That is my main motivation for getting these cards.

I've been running a 6970 for 8 years now and it's still going strong for 1080p... it's survived through a dead hard drive and dead MoBo. I keep seeing all these deals but I can wait a little bit more.

If FPS is all you care about then stick with the 7950 absolutely. GPU are not just FPS though.

It is the cards ability to render graphical design elements and still deliver FPS.

Your card is rendering a crayon drawing in comparison to a Bob Ross.

How about the manufacturers knock off the bs game bundles and sell the cards for what they are worth?
