A similar deal was posted for the space gray model but now shows expired. Just ordered this Silver version. Link is working at the time of post. If it does not I was able to find it by searching on Amazon under "iPad 128gb latest model." This is the first listing showing available stock and the option to purchase. In Stock Feb 14.
The Comcas/Xfinityt deal is still on through the end of February. 9.7" 128Gb, A10, gen 6 (latest version) for $120. You must be a Comcast sub with specific services but if you do this is a great price. See link below https://www.xfinity.com/ipad
did this model come out late? cause it doesn't support the 2nd gen pencil or is this apple trying to separate the lineup? kinda like in the past they want me to upgrade to have split screen. cause this seems more like a software thing and not a hardware thing.
The new Apple Pencil gen 2 ONLY works on the two new iPad Pro models. And vice versa. The first Apple Pencil will ONLY work on the older models (including this iPad).
I have an iPad air from like 5 years back. Is this really that big of an upgrade?
I have that model too. It's the oldest iPad that still have updates. Updates is most likely going to be discontinued soon on that model. It's starting to show it's age and new iPad are much faster. The rocker switch (mute/rotate) is no longer present on the new Non-Pro iPads which is the only con IMO.

I stop updating my ipad, I got a stupid 16gb ipad for christmas and every freakin update uses more space on the memory so I have less room for stuff and every new update it runs slower...I think it's because its more graphic and processor intensive? there's no reason for computer/laptop to show its again if you do the same thing with every time...for me that's watching school related material on the same VLC app and pdf files...and that's all. its basically used for school only. my only guess its the updates, is making its slower, using more resources.

I stopped updating a while ago on my iPad as well, updates definitely made things slower. OS is probably doing more things that is slowing it down. My old iPad Air is also 16GB which was limiting and was one of my main reason I wanted to upgrade to a newer iPad. If you are running on essentially no space left, it's slow and basically unusable as OS needs some space for normal operation. Like closing app - save states, and swapping ram to storage.
My point was that OS update support is most likely ending on iPad Air and having a older OS does have potential drawback like future app / updated app compatibility. But apps will probably still be ok for a few years before API really changes that apps require it and older online based apps stops working
I have one of these I got through the Comcast Xfinity deal, unopened and I'm waiting for the new mini (I like the smaller form factor). If anyone is interested in purchasing mine, hit me up!
I managed to stack the 20% off frys coupon after price matching totaling $247 before tax. There was no hassle getting the coupon, was given without the phrase. The sales associated had to get manager approval and the manager did his thing and that was that. Hopefully this will help if there are additional codes this week.
Also note, most items in stock at the location I went (palo alto, ca) to were open box items with only one gold being brand new.
